Scott B. Poor has an extensive legal and governmental affairs background. He previously served as Corporate Counsel, Assistant Secretary, and Director of Investor Relations for Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc., the nation’s largest publicly traded ethanol company. He was also Corporate Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for Bio Process Algae LLC, an ARPA-funded algae technology firm.
Earlier in his career, Scott practiced law at the Kansas City firm White Goss Bowers Marsch Schulte & Weisenfels LLP and served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas. He also held the role of Executive Director and General Counsel for the Kansas Republican Party.
Recognized as a “Rising Star” in Kansas politics by the National Journal in 2004, Scott has been actively involved in state leadership. He is a former Chairman of the Kansas Real Estate Appraisal Board and a graduate of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership (KARL) program. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for KANZA Bank and the Kansas Business Hall of Fame.
